Yellowstone Mountain Guides
Fly Fishing

Yellowstone and its surrounding areas are
home to numerous blue ribbon trout streams. Whether you are an experienced
angler or hoping for your first catch, we provide guide services in back
country and front country trout streams that will consistently produce
big fish. Yellowstone National Park offers premier dry fly-fishing as well
as many opportunities for nymphs and streamers. We offer this guide service
in overnight pack trip and single day ride form, as these streams are best
accessed by horseback. We also offer walk and wade trips along with guided
float trips.
One of the unique aspects of our Yellowstone outfitting experience is our combination of backcountry horseback travel and fly fishing guide service. We have a solid traditional background with horses and mules. But we also have years of experience fishing every part of the Yellowstone region. We enjoy spending time with you on the water.

Gallatin Headwaters
Pack in to our favorite camps! We visit the area of Yellowstone National
Park that has the highest species diversity. Fly fish for five species
of trout, view and photograph moose, elk, coyote, mountain sheep and
bear (if we are lucky).
We have been guiding in the park and never had a problem with any of our backcountry neighbors in 25 years! This is a great trip for folks that prefer to have flexibility to horseback ride and fish during the same day. Or ride up to the highest mountain passes in the Park to see spring alpine wildflowers and high country vistas.
Slough Creek
Several days of superb Montana dry fly fishing! If sight fishing for large selective
trout is what you enjoy, this is the trip for you. We provide expert advice
on catching these large (18"+) Cutthroat on small flies and light
tippet!
Thorofare
An adventure into the most isolated area of the lower 48! Join us on the
ultimate backcountry get away. We travel the route of the mountain men
along the Yellowstone River into the Thoroughfare. Fish for big native
Cutthroat in the most spectacular wild country imaginable. See country
that very few people experience. This is a trip of a lifetime!
Gallatin High Country
Fish a lake that only sees a few folks a year and even the first timer
can catch trout! This is a great trip for families and we will have a diversity
of experiences. Ride up to one of the most spectacular ridges in Yellowstone
where mountain sheep live. See large herds of elk and camp at one of the
most scenic spots on the map!
Snake River
This is a trip with a little more riding to get into some isolated high country.
We fish for West Slope Cutthroats in the meandering Snake and the upper canyon.
This is a great trip into some nice water that holds surprisingly large trout.
The Snake and its tributaries are consistent fishing each year.
Lee Metcalf Wilderness
Come join us in the Rocky Mountains
of Montana! We Camp at Tree line at a clear blue mountain lake surrounded
by rocky cathedrals and lush Alpine Meadows. This is one of our best Trips
for Photography or Alpine Lake Trout Fishing. See cascade streams and Wildflowers
like you've never seen before... Diverse in wildlife species...We often
see Elk, Moose, Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goat...with rare sightings
of Grizzly or Black Bear...Even Wolverine if your Lucky!

Our experienced crew of guides allows you plenty of time to spend fly fishing, learning about horses and mules, lounging in our comfortable camps, and exploring the natural world around us. And the food is simply the best that can be prepared over a campfire! In many cases, trips are put together after speaking with you and arranging a trip with folks like yourselves. Or you can form a group of your friends or family.
Water resistant sleeping tents are provided for each couple or group of children. Our sleeping bags are synthetic and rated for temperatures to 10 degrees F. We also provide cotton sleeping bag liners for each bag which are always freshly laundered before each trip. Some of our sleeping bags can be zipped together for couples; we have extra large sleeping bag liners for this arrangement also. Please let us know your preference.
Our sleeping mattresses are inflatable Thermarest pads and include a cover which protects them. These covers are designed to be used as lounges or chairs, so you can sit up and read in your tent or use them around the campfire in the evening.
